Pronunciation Reference: אֵל שַׁדַּי

MUSIC FOR DAY 03: THE COVENANT

PRAYER

God Almighty, I praise You! There is nothing too difficult for You, and nothing in this world can diminish Your mighty power.

Thank You that through Christ, I have access to You, the All-Sufficient One. In You, there is inexhaustible love, wisdom, power, and kingdom resources. You are enough for me.

Forgive me when I do not even think of relying on You. Forgive me for my unbelief and my self-sufficiency.

May I never forget how much I need You in my life. Please grant me the grace to recognize and accept my limits. Let me gladly boast in my weaknesses, in which Your power is made perfect. Fill me with the joy of partnering with You.

Because You are the God Almighty, I declare my total dependence on You, and I will see Your mighty hand in my daily life.

A FEW FACTS…

  • El Shaddai (אֵל שַׁדַּי) is commonly translated as "God Almighty”. However, its meaning is subject to some controversy. The meaning of El undoubtedly refers to God, while Shaddai has several possible origins. For example, in Hebrew, shad (שַׁד) means "breast," implying nourishment, provision, and support; śadé refers to "the (uncultivated) field"; shadad (שדד) means "destroyer" or "overpowerer"; and in Akkadian, Šadu means "mountain." Therefore, El Shaddai may also convey meanings such as The All-Sufficient One, God the Overpowerer, God of the Mountains, and so on.
  • The first mention of El Shaddai is in Genesis 17:1-2 when God told Abram that He would make a covenant with him, and Abram, who was 99 years old, would have descendants.
  • The book of Job prominently uses the name Shaddai more than any other book in the Bible.

SMILE & BREATHE

Try to find a place where you can sit without being disturbed. Make yourself comfortable, but sit up straight. Relax your shoulders, neck, and jaw.

Smile, for nothing is too difficult for Him. (Jeremiah 32:17)

Inhale gently through your nose, imagining that you can breathe in His power, allowing this breath to fill your lower abdomen.

Hold your breath for a few seconds, thanking Him for His power that operates in your life every day.

Exhale slowly through your mouth, taking a little longer than inhaling, surrendering to Him all that you find difficult or even impossible.

EXERCISE 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

Writing a two-way journal is connecting and interacting with Him. Today, we write to the God Almighty. Be still, listen, and let the monologue become a dialogue. Record this conversation in your journal, inviting the Holy Spirit to guide you towards a beautiful encounter with Him.

[Part 1]
Dear Father / God Almighty, …
[Part 2]
Dear child / (your name), …

..............................................................................................

EXERCISE 2:

DECLARATION

How does the omnipotence of God impact your way of living? Take a moment to reflect and write your own personal declaration. You can draw upon His promises or make it relevant to your current situation.

Because You are God Almighty, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Speak these words aloud, letting their sound resonate within you. Repeat them, allowing your heart to align with His truth and your eyes to perceive God's reality. This practice shatters limiting beliefs, enabling you to step into His abundance.

BLESSINGS

This concludes Day 3 of HE. Today, I pray that you will humbly acknowledge your limitations and weaknesses, and wholeheartedly surrender yourself to God Almighty. His power will rest upon you, just as He faithfully promised.
