PRAYER

God, the Creator, I praise You for loving mankind so dearly that You created a stunningly beautiful universe for us to inhabit. You provided abundant resources to delight and to sustain us. You spoke every atom and every cell into existence. You uniquely form every star, every flower, every bird, and every person.

Thank You for the incredible gift of creativity. You are the ultimate source of all creative ideas.

Forgive me for putting limits on You, forgetting You created everything from nothing.

Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and infuse me with Your imagination. Release me from my limiting thoughts so I can boldly walk into endless possibilities!

Because You are God the Creator, I declare I am created to be creative. I can, and I will respond to every challenge and problem with God-breathed solutions from Heaven.

A FEW FACTS…

  • Elohim (אֱלֹהִים) is a Hebrew term meaning "God." It is the plural form of El (אֱלוֹהַּ) or Eloah (אֵל) (both of which we will encounter again in this journey). However, in Hebrew grammar, it is sometimes used to denote respect or reverence, rather than necessarily indicating a true plural.
  • Elohim appears in Genesis 1:1, describing Him as the creator of the heavens and the earth. The term Elohim does not directly translate to "God the Creator," but is widely used to refer to the Creator and ruler of the universe. Therefore, we have chosen this title of God, which first appears in the entire Bible, to begin this journey, focusing on Him as the Creator.
  • Elohim is a generic title that can refer to the true God, idols, or even other spiritual beings.

SMILE & BREATHE

Many of us are moving through life at break-neck speed; it is time to rest in His presence. Find a quiet place to sit down, gently rotate and relax your shoulders and neck.

No matter how you feel at this moment, may I ask you to smile with me?

Smile, for you and this world are His beautiful creations, and He sees them as good.

Inhale through your nose, effortlessly drawing the breath into your abdomen. Contemplate how the universe, from nothingness to everything, comes from His love for us.

Hold your breath for a few seconds, focusing on His unique creativity and His infinite imagination.

Exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any dissatisfaction, frustration, or emptiness in your heart to Him.

Repeat as needed, preparing yourself for the next section.

EXERCISE 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

Prepare your journal, whether it's a physical notebook or an electronic file, isn't the most important thing. The most important thing is to prepare your heart to meet Him. This exercise has two parts:

[PART 1] In the form of a letter, write to God (the Creator).

[PART 2] Spend time listening to His response and record it in your journal.

Tips: Just let your words flow, and be as truthful as you can be. Don’t criticize or correct your writing as you journal (you can review it later on). I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you to a delightful conversation. It could look something like this:

[Part 1]
Dear God, the Creator, …
[Part 2]
Dear child / (your name), …

EXERCISE 2:

DECLARATION

The beliefs we choose to adopt shape the trajectory of our lives. It is crucial to protect our thoughts diligently. In this section, we devote our time to nourishing our minds with statements that are rooted in faith and are pleasing to God. By doing so, we can reframe our perspectives and empower ourselves to live in accordance with His truth.

How does God’s creative nature relate to the way you live? Write your own declaration. It’s your statement of faith. Keep it positive, simple and relevant to you. You can personalize it to the point that it speaks to your most current situation. You can begin your declaration like this:

Because You are God, the Creator, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Read it aloud. Read it a couple of times with certainty. Let it penetrate your soul. By doing this, you are training yourself to see and step into God’s reality.

BLESSINGS

This completes Day 1 of HE; what a delightful beginning of our journey! Today, I pray that He will create new things in you, with you, and through you.
