Holy Spirit: From Creation to Companion Sýnishorn
When I started searching the Bible for information on the Holy Spirit, God met me in the solitude of the rainforest in Belize, Central America. What He taught me there is the basis of what I have put together in this plan. If He could reach me there, He can reach you right where you are.
We should never be afraid to search out a topic in the Bible for ourselves. The Bible is for all of us. The Holy Spirit is for all of us. There are so many tools at our disposal to learn more about the Holy Spirit: the Bible, books about the Holy Spirit, and Bible plans like this one. You can do the research yourself.
God wants us to know about the Holy Spirit. So we can pray, "Holy Spirit, teach me about who You are."
Ask, seek, and knock - knowing that the Father has already promised to give the Holy Spirit to any who will ask. It is okay to ask someone to pray for us as we ask for the Holy Spirit. I have done that many times; as my pastor friend said, we can ask God, as often as we wish or need, to refill us with the Holy Spirit.
Knowing how much we would need the Holy Spirit daily, God provided a Helper for us to be successful on our mission to tell others about Jesus and to do good works!
As available as He is for every believer, it is up to us to activate the Holy Spirit's power in our lives. By doing so, we can be witnesses of Jesus daily, live purposefully in the building up of the Body of Christ, and produce spiritual fruit that brings honor to God's Name. We can only do these things with the help of the Holy Spirit.
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6.
Prayer:
Lord, there is so much to learn, and I want to be a sponge when it comes to Your Holy Spirit. I ask for more of the Holy Spirit in my life. Please remind me that I can keep asking and that You do not intend for us to live this Christian life in our strength. You have provided Your Word and Your Spirit, both of which we can keep in our hearts so that we can live for You faithfully. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
