Your First Chapter: Remember What Matters MostSýnishorn
How Good You Look!
Do you have a second? Then grab your cell phone and take a picture of yourself. A snapshot. Without filters. Just the way you look right now. Or take a quick look in the mirror and take note of exactly what you see there. What is the first thing that comes to your mind? What thoughts?
What I would like to tell you right now is very important, because if you really start to believe it, it will change you forever:
God loves what you are seeing right now! He delights in you!
On the first pages of the Bible, we read: “And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind…” (Genesis 1:25 NKJV)
Notice how it says, "He made them according to their kind?" If we read further what God says about your creation, we read, "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27 NKJV)
It does not say, "He made man after their kind," but rather, "He made man in His own image!" Woohoo! That is so much more than we will ever comprehend!
The first explanation I find in the dictionary of the word "image" is, "Someone who looks a lot like someone else." God chose to create you not in "your" likeness, but in "His" likeness! His! The divine kind!
Feel free to look at your picture again, or take another look in the mirror. This is God's way, you are His image! It makes me speechless! Grateful! And it makes me rethink some things! Let’s thank God that He created you not in just "any" way, but in "His" way, and wants you just as you are.
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14 NIV) Thank You that I was created after Your kind! Please don't let me doubt anymore that I am wanted just the way I am! Amen!
You are a miracle!
