So You Think You're Not Good Enough?Sýnishorn
There is no God
At some point, every Christian comes up against the atheist argument that there is no God. They say you can’t prove there is a God, but neither can they disprove it.
There is more evidence in the world around us, in science and the fossil record, that points to the existence of God than not. Scientists now recognize that everything that exists is the result of “intelligent design.” They just aren’t yet prepared to say it was God.
But what does scripture have to say about the existence of God?
Psalm 103 tells us that to say there is no God is foolish. It shows the folly of rejecting God and the wisdom of recognizing Him.
Paul showed that the evidence of God is all around us in the complexity, balance, and wonder of what He created. The beauty and perfection of His creation is evident right down to the atomic level.
The challenge we have is that God is spirit, and we cannot see spirit. He is invisible, but His work is all around us and is highly visible. Just because something is invisible does not mean it does not exist. Can we see a thought or a creative idea before it is brought into existence? And yet no one would argue the existence of thought, and that comes from the spirit.
Likewise, God is the Creator Spirit who thought out and planned all that we see and then brought it into existence.
And, of course, Jesus showed us God’s nature. He is the personification of God, as He said to Philip, “He who has seen me has seen the Father.” (John 14:9)
We have evidence of God in the Bible, the teachings of Jesus, and in the Creation. Remember, too, that if we could see God, there would be no need for faith, but as the scripture says:
“…for we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Furthermore, we are blessed because we do not see.
Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe." (John 20:29)
God created man to feel for Him. He put this desire into all mankind but left it to our own free will to seek Him or not. And when we do seek Him, Jesus reveals the Father to us.
Call to Action:
The revelation of God is all around us, and it is received by faith. Those who say there is no God have no faith and will never find Him unless or until Christ calls them. And when He is revealed in your life, you can not know there is a God ever again.
About this Plan
Have you ever thought, “I’m not good enough?” What about any of these other thoughts? I’m not worthy of being a Christian. Other people are better Christians than I am. I’m the worst sinner ever. God could never forgive what I have done. God isn’t listening to my prayers. These are attacks of the devil. This plan will show how to defeat them all and more.
