Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 6Sýnishorn
Every house is built by someone. The question is: who is building yours? These days houses are being built at a fast pace. One day there is vacant land, the next, houses are everywhere. I always wonder whether the foundation of the building is stable. It bothers me mainly because I do not know the builder and designer of the house. I cannot say if they can be trusted with that project. But when you know the designer and the builder, there is peace of mind. There is something of assurance when we understand that God is the designer and builder of all things. It means that He is the owner of everything, including you and me. Everything belongs to Him and we are His stewards.
So here is the big question for today. What are you doing with what God has given you? Are you a good steward of your life? But here is the catch! To be a good steward is not merely doing a good job maintaining whatever is given to you. To be a good steward is to understand the purpose of the Designer and the Builder. It is not just asking: how do I keep everything in its place? It asks why and for what purpose this thing was designed and built. My greatest and most important goal is to fulfill the Designer's purpose.
When we understand this, the Designer and Builder give clear instructions on how to be good stewards of what He has given us. All we have to do is listen and follow. He knows what we need to accomplish our mission. We find blueprints for healthy marriages, raising Godly children, and how to work with our money. We find blueprints for making good decisions and finding purpose in life. We find the blueprint for knowing God and loving people.
Can you define the purpose of your “house” today? Do you understand the blueprint the Designer and the Builder created?
