Samson: Gifted from birth
You are the answer to someone’s prayer.
In the Bible’s Old Testament, a baby named Samson was God’s answer to the Israelites’ prayers for deliverance from the Philistines. God appeared to the wife of a man named Manoah, saying, “You are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give birth to a son. He will take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines” (Judges 13:3,5). What an amazing message directly from God himself telling her that the son she had yearned for was gifted for deliverance and blessed from birth!
You don’t need God to bust through the earth’s atmosphere to personally and verbally tell you that you’ve been gifted and blessed from birth. God’s Word declares you are. Ephesians 2:10 makes it obvious: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
You are God’s handiwork. You were created and purposed to bless others and to be the answer to other people’s prayers for peace, guidance, and hope. God prepared good works for you to do.
Those good works don’t always need to be grand gestures. Small things matter. Smiling at others matters. Complimenting someone unexpectedly matters. Buying someone a coffee or their favorite candy bar matters. Sitting by someone sitting alone at school or work matters. You matter. What you do in the name of Jesus matters.
So who is it? Who are you going to bless next?
