He Is

DAY 8 OF 20

What does it look like to truly trust in God? It’s one thing to say that phrase out loud, either in church or when talking to friends and family. But it’s another actually to live it out in our everyday lives. Does trusting in God mean we don’t have to worry about grocery bills, rising rent costs, or getting our car to hold on just a little bit longer? Or does it allow us to make decisions in our lives without thinking through any of the consequences that may come from them? Of course not. Trusting in God doesn’t mean we no longer have any responsibilities in life. Instead, we know that our lives are not fully within our control.

We may make decisions or work to fulfill our responsibilities and still end up in situations we never wanted. But when we trust God, we put our faith and lives in His hands, no matter the outcome, knowing that God will work all things for good.

What are some things that you need to give over to God? Writing out a list of worries or responsibilities that you know you need to invite God into may be helpful. Pray over each item on your list, and specifically, let God know that you trust Him to take care of the situation in the way He thinks is best.

About this Plan

He Is

Getting to know someone takes time. It’s the same with our relationship with God. God doesn’t just want us to know facts about Him or only speak to Him through prayers sporadically said throughout our lives. God wants us to have a relationship with Him based on us knowing who He is. We will walk together through Scriptures that are filled with descriptions of God’s attributes and promises to help us know Him more.
