He Said, She Says: The Power of Praying God's WordSýnishorn
What He Said About Loneliness
Isn’t it amazing that the words alone and lonely are so similar, yet you can be the opposite of alone, yet still lonely? You can be in a room full of people, a church with filled pews, a party with talkative and laughing ladies, but still feel completely alone.
Something beautiful happens in the nineteenth chapter of John. Mary, the mother of Jesus, stood watching her Son as He was nailed to a cross. She watched as He was tortured and mocked. She watched, knowing she would soon have a missing piece in her life. And that’s when Jesus did something beautiful. He didn’t yell at her, saying, “Woman! You KNOW this is a part of God’s plan! Death happens! Get over it!” He didn’t look down on her and yell, “Stop your tears! You’ll be fine, for crying out loud!” No, our precious and loving Jesus looked at his mother as she stood next to His disciple John and said, “Dear woman, here is your son,” and in that moment, He let her know that she was not alone by placing John in her life.
And in this moment, He’s done the same for you. No matter if you literally are alone or just feel like you don’t belong, He wants to turn your loneliness into a loving relationship with Him. Don’t push Him away. You always belong with and to Him.
