Rerouting

DAY 5 OF 25

When we’re in the valleys of our lives, it can be hard to think about what’s coming next. We’re so focused on being lost that we forget about the possibility of being found. We forget that there is a blessing in coming to a stop. What may look like a valley can truly turn out to be a stopping point that keeps us from moving farther from where we need to be. The blessing is in the pause. The promise of that blessing allows us to cling to hope. Hope that there is a way out of the valley. Hope that God is in it with us. Hope that there is a rescue. When we have that hope, we can move toward praise no matter what. God is forever unchanging regardless of our valley or circumstance, no matter the wrong turn or bad decision. His love for us is eternal and unconditional; that love will be our hope in all circumstances. What can we do each day to remind ourselves to praise God for our hope? Take some time to write a list of all the good things God has brought to your life. In times of trouble or frustration, read your list repeatedly. Praise God for each item you’ve written, one by one. Praise God for the things in the future that you know will be added to your list. Keep this list with you, and watch it grow as your hope, trust, and faith in God grows.

About this Plan

Rerouting

No matter the destination you’re trying to reach, the journey to get there comes with twists and turns instead of a straight path. We often have to reroute. In this devotional we’ll dive into what it looks like to reroute and find a new map along the journey. We’ll see many examples of God working to fulfill the plans He created for us.
