Judges 6:39 ~ Then Gideon said to God, "Let not your anger burn against me; let me speak just once more. Please let me test just once more with the fleece. Please let it be dry on the fleece only, and on all the ground, let there be dew."
Continuing with our phone analogy, this story will fall under the Caller ID category. You can almost hear Gideon, Lord...is that really you?
I would encourage you to read the entire chapter, or at least verses 36-40, and you can see Gideon test God to see if it's truly His Will. Gideon first says he'll leave his fleece for God only to make that part wet, not the surrounding ground. God does just that. The majority can identify with the verse. Gideon knows what he's asking because he asks God not to be angry. But Gideon asks God to make everything but the fleece wet.
I wonder if God ever rolls His eyes at us.
But scripture simply states, "And God did so that night; and it was dry on the fleece only, and on all the ground there was dew."
How many times does God give us His Will for our life in a situation, and we ask for confirmation? Lord, you said to quit my job, but I just wanted to ask if You meant to quit.
We want God to give us feedback that we are already comfortable with, but not always the case. God is set on reaching the world, and we may be focused on reaching the sofa.
For us to get on the same page as God, we need to spend time in prayer, reading His Word, seeking His Will, and listening to the counsel of the Holy Spirit.
Now, if you read what happens in chapter seven of Judges, you'd see that Gideon should have asked God how many men He would let him keep. If Gideon knew God would trim his army of 22,000 to 300, I'm sure he would want to confirm that number.
God could have shown Gideon his victory over the Midians, but He wants us to seek Him for every part of the process.
Questions:
Do you try to confirm God's input into your life?
Are you still trying to confirm? Or are you on the march?
Challenge:
I challenge us all to be open to God's direction for our life even when we feel the need to confirm.

About this Plan
We have all been called to spread the Gospel. The question is, have you answered? With caller ID, voicemail, do not disturb and more, we can hide quite well. Let’s take a look at some of the people God called in the Bible and how they responded. You may find you have something in common.
