Stop Trying to Figure It All Out - Proverbs 3
Our mind is an amazing thing. So powerful and complex, but it can quickly get us in trouble. We can easily lean into our own understanding if we’re not careful. It’s a good exercise to pray and give a situation to the Lord instead of analyzing it over and over again. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with a challenging situation on my mind. I have learned to ask God if He is trying to tell me something or if it’s just my mind wanting to worry and analyze. After a few minutes of mulling over the situation, I pray and give it to the Lord.
Philippians 4:6-7 is my go-to passage: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” What a powerful formula. I encourage you to try it when you experience fear, worry, or frustration. It’s a powerful way to trust God and submit your life to Him!
“Father, thank you for Your peace that exceeds anything I can understand. I trade my understanding for trust in You. I submit my life to you today!”
