Are You Listening? - Proverbs 8
This is probably the most extensive chapter in Proverbs, focusing on wisdom. Remember, wisdom simply means making good decisions you won’t regret later.
The most important message in this chapter is that wisdom is always speaking to you, especially in significant moments (Proverbs 8:2-3):
1. “At the highest point along the way,” – when things are going well.
2. “Where the paths meet, she takes her stand;” – when you are in a time of decision.
3. “Beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance,” – when you’re starting something new (new marriage, new job, new baby).
The voice of wisdom is quite literally always speaking to you. It’s the voice of the Holy Spirit inside you. Are you listening? Sometimes, we’re so busy we need to slow down and take time to hear God’s voice of wisdom. At other times, we know what wisdom is telling us, but we struggle to obey. You can trust that God has your best in mind. If you hear His voice today, don’t harden your heart (Hebrews 3:15).
“Father, thank you for Your wisdom. My heart is open, and I want to hear from you today.”
