Royals Part I: United Kingdom

DAY 18 OF 21

Glory Of God

We have just celebrated the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Along with the dozens of official events, there were thousands of other public and private events celebrated all over the world. It was a pretty big deal.

Israel celebrated in equal pomp when King Solomon completed the temple. It had been over four hundred years since Moses was instructed to build the tabernacle, and now Israel finally had a house of the Lord in Jerusalem. But it was not the building itself that was the key point of celebration, but during the Feast of Tabernacles when King Solomon dedicated the temple and brought the ark of the covenant into the Most Holy Place, the presence and glory of the Lord filled that space. God was settling into His permanent residence. It was truly a grand celebration.

God was faithful to His promises and to His covenant with Israel, and He blessed them with His presence, dwelling with them in a beautiful temple, a step closer to Eden, when He and humans dwelled together in perfect unity. Even though this wouldn’t last, still “not one word has failed.” Jesus is our Messianic King, and through his death, resurrection, and gift of the Holy Spirit, we become the temple where God dwells. A life-long celebration followed which continues today and will continue into eternity. Hallelujah!
