Choices

DAY 2 OF 21

Will you choose God?

We were created with desires for acceptance, purpose, and love. Even from infancy we are needy, dependent beings searching for anything that will satisfy our wants and desires.

We want things that will make us happy, healthy, and complete. As children we thought it was that newest doll or bike, and as adults we think that bigger house, better job, or a fancy trip to Fiji will finally give us the satisfaction we so desperately desire. For some, when those things fail to fulfill us, we reach for sex, drugs, or alcohol to soothe our aching hearts. These things only leave us empty, exhausted, and disappointed, yet still reaching for more.

God created us with our addictive natures, hoping and desiring for us to be addicted to Him! If we allow them, our greatest desires will point and carry us to Him, the place and Person of all our wants and needs.

God is not put off by our needs. He is a loving Father who lavishly offers His abundant life, love, and satisfaction. He created us from His great love and desires us to fully know Him, love Him, and live our lives in Him—a unique life filled with purpose, direction, and immense satisfaction.

God will never force Himself on you. He has given you freedom to choose. He is a loving God who relentlessly pursues you and desires to be chosen by you. Will you find your satisfaction in Him, or will you continue your searching?

Choose God or something else will choose your desires.

About this Plan

Choices

Life is a series of choices, each determining the trajectory it will take. Will we choose life, by allowing our hearts to be changed by God's Word? Or will we default to our human nature, a passive choice leading to death?
