Do You Want to Be Successful?Sýnishorn
Be faithful in your process.
Today, everything, starting with the dissemination of information to the presentation of food needs to be done quickly. Without realizing it, we have been shaped to have a "fast food" mindset. We want to get promoted quickly. We want our prayers to be answered as soon as possible. However, God works through a process. This process happened from the creation of the world to Adam and Eve to the way of salvation through Christ's death. God is almighty. He can speak about something and it will be done in seconds. However, instead of just speaking, God also gives us a real example by showing that He works in and through every process.
Under the leadership of Moses, the Israelites managed to get out of Egypt after 400 years of slavery. God wanted to lead them to the land He had promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. However, the Lord did not lead them on the fastest way to their destination. The word of God says, " If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” God led the people around through the desert to the Red Sea. (Exodus 13:17-18). God knew the capacity of the hearts of the Israelites. Without a “turning path” process that seemed to force them to circle in the desert, the Israelites might get to the promised land quickly but not necessarily be able to maintain the promise of God.
We often grumble when the answer to our prayers is "wait". We want to avoid the waiting period because of its uncertainty. When we know the heart of the Father who loves His children, we can be sure that He always provides the best for us. Whether it is looking for a job, getting a promotion, or waiting for a life partner, let's remember God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11, that a future filled with hope is certain! This certainty enables us to wait in hope.
Like gold is being refined in a fire, God will also purify our hearts and motivations and prepare us to enter the promised land that the Lord has provided.
Reflection:
1. Remember the process we have gone through and God's faithful love in that process that brought us to the point of our life today.
2. Share your personal experiences with other people around you who are going through the same season!
