Lord, it’s okay if you replace it
A few years ago, I lived in a city where I could never buy things that suited me. Therefore, sometimes I wrote to a large store looking for the items I need, and they would send me an order form. Below the form are words that read something like this: “If we don't have the item you ordered, can we replace it with a replacement item?”
One time I answered “yes” on the form and they replied, “We're sorry we don't have the item you ordered, so we sent a replacement” - but they sent me an item that was 2x more expensive than the item I ordered. They had a rule that if they could not provide the goods ordered by their customers, then they would replace them with other goods of better quality for the same price.
After that, I always wrote "yes" in capital letters so they could understand what I meant.
When we pray to God, it is better to write on the order form that we are willing to let Him send a replacement because every time God does this, He will send us something better.
Reflection
We must realize that God's plan is always greater than what we can think and ask for. How many of us often force God to do what we want? If God does not grant our request, then believe that God has a better plan for our lives.
Prayer is not pulling God to my will, but the aligning of my will to the will of God.
