Glorifying Him Through And In Our Self-CareSýnishorn
TAKING CARE OF OUR VESSEL
I know we’ve all heard it before.
- Take care of your body, you only get one.
- You are what you eat.
How are you taking care of your body, of the one and only vessel God has given you? There is no such thing as a quick fix when it comes to diets or supplements. There is no “works for everyone” either for that matter.
Can you begin to look at food differently, such as medicine or not so great for the body? And as something that sometimes we use to celebrate but not to stuff or cover our emotions? Can you work on your emotional triggers when it comes to food?
Do you need to work with a nutritionist or a health coach? Are you drinking enough water? Moving your body enough?
For me I have found the Blood Type Diet and my supplements to be the best plan for my health and wellness. Find something that has great research behind it and that you feel drawn to. Then go all in and try it. If it doesn’t feel right or work for you, move on and try the next thing. Begin again.
Do exercise that you enjoy! Do not run if you hate running! Dance if that is what you love! And if it isn’t in classes, then just turn on some great music and dance around!
God gave us this miraculous body. We must care for it and move it to glorify Him. Psalm 149:3 says, “Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!”
We, however, must also rest.
Finding the balance, variety and moderation in your food and exercise that works for you and helps you feel your best takes some patience and tenacity, but it is worth the journey.
He made us to be temples for His Holy Spirit. Take care of that temple, my friends. When we take care of it, we have the greater ability to spread His love in this world.
