Let Your Light Shine

DAY 4 OF 5

His Word Shines Bright

On any night in Sydney or any major city, it’s hard to see the stars. We know they are there, but just can’t see them all. Move away from the city lights out into the country, and look up at the same sky and you can see millions of stars. They were there in the city, but we can’t see them until we get clear of the lights.

Seeking God’s Word is the same. His Word provides a light to us, but we are distracted by other lights that stop God’s Word shining through. We need to spend time away from distractions to read God’s Word to see its true light and what we can learn about God and ourselves.

These three verses from Psalm 119 tell us three important things about God’s Word – the Bible. Firstly, that it is wonderful; secondly, that it provides light; thirdly, that it satisfies. They also provide three responses to His Word – firstly, that we obey it; secondly, that it is easy to understand; and thirdly, that we yearn for it.

His Word gives us light. It shows us the right way to go as it guides our path. Don’t we all need this? Take the time and move away from all your distractions, and see God’s clear direction through the light of His Word.

About this Plan

Let Your Light Shine

God calls us to shine our light in a world that’s full of darkness. As we live out each day, our lives need to shine to bring attention to the Saviour King who will bring healing, restoration, unity, peace and hope to a world desperate for it. They just need us to light the way.
