LEAD WITH COMMUNICATION
Communication is a big key to the success of any relationship. Godly leadership puts value in sharing thoughts, spreading love and encouragement through words, asking for help, asking for needs, and celebrating one another. Communication requires a huge commitment because not everyone’s form of communication is the same. Good leadership makes it a priority to learn how to properly communicate with others and use our words to build and lift each other up.
In order to be an effective communicator, you must first be a great listener. I find it challenging, at times, to listen when I think I already know the answer. But proper communication is to listen with an open heart and mind. The best way to do listen is to ask the Holy Spirit to allow us to hear what He wants us to hear and be willing to be His mouthpiece when He speaks. Sometimes, if we listen with our carnal ears and not with the spirit of God, we can become offended, prideful, or take things the wrong way. In order for us to be a space of healing and restoration, we have to allow the space for healthy communication.
Unity is also very important in communication. Unity doesn’t mean we all agree or see things the same way, but voicing our point of view without offense or confusion is the unified and appropriate way to communicate. Lead with communication.
About this Plan
Godly leaders don’t give in to the culture of self or this world, but take directives only from the true living God and follow the life of His son, Jesus Christ. Christ wants to be at the center of our leadership and development; character, compassion, communication, consideration, consistency, community, and the way we love, care, and serve others. Join us on this 8 day study of godly leadership.
