Am I the Master’s Choice?Sýnishorn
Well-Equipped
Skilled men stand before kings (Pro 22:29). So do well-equipped people. They are given key assignments and will be looked up to and looked after well by the management. But meeting expectations isn’t easy, despite having excellent processes, tools and technologies to aid us. ‘Can do’ and ‘will do’ attitude enables us to meet expectations. This pushes one to acquire the right skills and cultivate the right behavioural competencies. Skills are the means to deliver while behavioural competencies show the way.
Excellence has always been essential for growth. Work culture continues to change rapidly with ever-changing behavioural patterns and technological advancements. One can stay relevant only by enhancing skills and competencies. Understand the best practices in your domain and adopt them in your workplace. Look up to mentors for guidance. Keep abreast of the developments in your field and equip yourself accordingly. Failure to do so can potentially make one redundant.
Abraham’s servant procured quickly what was required for the trip (men, camels, gifts, provisions). He was disciplined to do things quickly, not tarrying at all. He knew the route to Haran. He was an excellent communicator, competent to deliberate with the integrity of heart and convince others. He was spiritually mature enough to not lean on his abilities and discernment but on God. Such skills, discipline and behaviour come only by being totally dependent on God over time and not by merely studying about them.
Keeping pace with advanced skills and competencies should be in addition to cultivating the right values and behaviours. We can cultivate the right behavioural competencies only with the Lord’s help. Learn, unlearn, practice, master what is required to stay current and competent. Then, we will be the Master’s choice. So, stay tuned to the voice of the Lord and be equipped for the glory of God.
Saul’s servant said of David, He is skilful, valiant and God's Spirit is on him (I Sam 16:18). Can this be said about you?
May this be our prayer:
Equip me for the war, And teach my hands to fight,
My simple, upright heart prepare, And guide my words aright,
Control my every thought, The whole of sin remove,
Let all my works in Thee be wrought, Let all be wrought in love.

About this Plan
It is essential that we fulfill the responsibility for which we were called by God and hired by our company. What is the Vision/Purpose of your life from God’s point of view and how have you been fulfilling it? Who other than God can guide us in His will and purpose?
