Real Hope: Finding ShelterSýnishorn
Our Dependable God
Reading the news recently, my heart actually got a bit overwhelmed by much of what the media published. There’s so much uncertainty in the world. Times have changed and will continue to change – as will we! We change our clothes, we change our minds, we change directions, we change jobs, we change cars, and we change moods in an instant. So, what the world regards as a baseline for stability is not. And can never be – but God is. In a world where consistency is a rare commodity, God is someone you can depend on. In a world where public opinion changes with the wind, God remains constant.
As I ponder on the steadfastness of God, I find myself rising in hope anchored in the truth that even though we can be surrounded at times by uncertainty, He is the same, ‘Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever’ (Hebrews 13:8). He is certain, and unchanging – the creator and sustainer of heaven and earth.
What the morning sun is in nature, rising brilliantly every day, God is in His great and relentless love towards us. He is a shelter in every storm. He is constant, consistent, perfect, and present. Thank you, Lord, that you never change, you are always there for us, always dependable, and will be with us always in the future… and ALWAYS means FOREVER…
