Perfectly Unfinished
I feel a fresh whiff of cool breeze on my face and remember the stolen joys and the broken days that preceded today. I experienced being broken and crushed beyond setting right. My situation was big, but God is exceedingly bigger and beyond.
God removed me from the trenches of my engulfing situation to gain fresh perspective. The enemy sought to destroy me by triggering feelings of loneliness, but God broke my fetters to calm and assure me with His presence even in the deepest crevices of my heart.
Quite a few times, the things we nurture don’t bloom as expected! Our lives are not devoid of seasons and times of difficulty, stress and strain. But, in all humility, we need to learn to cooperate with the richness of His grace and love that is provided boundless and limitless. This would be the point of innovation and renewed creativity for the Lord to work in us. He makes all things new (Is 43:9). Where we cannot, God already has!
Due to the disobedience of man, what God created was distorted, damaged and even dismantled, but it wasn’t beyond repair. God desires to make all things new, renew us too. But the path is more off-kilter, more narrow than a balanced and an even one.
As much as we are restored back with joy, the world at large stands in need of His liberation. People around us are more broken than we are. Many times, God has used me to help my friends whose situations were worse than the heavy luggage of discomfort and anxiety that I was lugging along.
Max Lucado pitches in: "What is coming will make sense of what is happening. Let God finish His work. Let the composer complete His symphony. The forecast is simple. Good days. Bad days. But God is in all the days. He is the Lord of the famine and the feast, and He uses both to accomplish His will."
As Lysa Terkeurst writes, "Heartbreaking seasons can certainly grow me, but were never meant to define me." Every time I am hit down, I come back with greater strength and surge.
Father, help me to be the hands and feet for You to redeem, restore and renovate the life of others, like the way You have restored life and beauty in me.
