In My Head: A 5-Day Devotional by Grace GraberSýnishorn
Day Four: Heart for Me
“Give me the eyes to see. I want to know. Show me how far, how deep. Cause I’m sick and tired living like I’m fine; I need you tonight… I want to know your heart for me.”
Faith is more than mere belief; it’s a passionate searching and seeking for God. This emotionally charged song represents years of pursuing God’s heart for me.
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
It’s easy to live life out of routine, failing to recognize God’s love throughout the day. Instead of glossing over these moments of his love, we need to celebrate them. Do you look for moments like these?
The title for this EP comes from the first couple of lines in this song; “Can you feel the disconnect. I’ve been living in my head. Would you come and lead me back to you?” The point of each song in this compilation is to highlight where many of our thoughts go when we become disconnected from God. This disconnection can be both intentional or unintentional. The distance we feel towards God has more to do with our moving further away from him.
God is always there, ready, and willing to draw near to us. His love is always abundant and plentiful. Allow God’s love for you to draw you closer to him. Make him your greatest priority and he will lead you where you are needed.
