Life On MissionSýnishorn
After Moses dies, Joshua takes over the leadership role. He has the very important task of leading the people away from their wandering and into the promised land. It was the last push of a very long journey.
I recently ran a half marathon. Right around mile 11 I was feeling quite exhausted. My steady and confidant jog had turned into a reckless waddle. It was that part in the run where my jog transformed into a calculated falling forward. It wasn’t pretty. It was probably painful for people to watch. I was mentally and physically drained. I needed courage and it needed to come from somewhere. Fortunately the crowds clapped and shouted and encouraged the runners. Someone yelled from the comfort of their cozy yard with cold beer in hand, “you’ve got this!” After giving them a stern “stink eye,” I thought, you’re right. I’ve totally got this.
This is why in Joshua Chapter 1 God says to Joshua three times, “Be strong and courageous!” The mission that God had for Joshua would be taxing physically, mentally and spiritually. You won’t always have a cheerleader there to cheer you on, but you have God. He is your biggest fan. The courage that God wants to deposit into your life will fuel greatness. It will inspire and prompt boldness that you never knew existed.
Pray that God will help you become a more courageous person. Ask God to give you boldness and clarity in your life.

About this Plan
Welcome to the Life on Mission devotional. We can often get overwhelmed with the demands of life and chaos of our world. We quickly forget that God has a mission for us while on earth. There are amazing things for you to see, do and accomplish and God empowers you to do all of them. This devotional is meant to get your life out of a rut and onto God’s mission for your life. Every third day there will be a “mission” for you to apply to your life. We’re God’s people, on a mission, to reflect his goodness to the entire world. Let’s do this!
