Our future is safe in God’s hands
The living hope of believers is especially aimed at life after death. While it is true that eternal life with God starts immediately when you are born again, it will not reach its fullness here on earth. This earthly life is still impacted by sin and its consequences. Our full inheritance is safely “kept in heaven”, and therefore is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading.
Jesus says the same in Matthew 6:19-20, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal”. Nobody, not even God’s enemy Satan, can damage the inheritance that God has in store for us.
Not only is our inheritance of eternal life and spiritual blessings safely kept in heaven, God will also make sure that we will reach our destination to be with Him forever. He guards us through faith. He will make sure that we don’t lose our salvation. As Jesus promised: “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand” (John 10:28).
Praise God for His faithfulness!
