Thriving in Your SinglenessSýnishorn
Knowing Who You Are in Christ
Single season = self-aware
Be aware that you are rare, unique, and called by God.
In order to fulfill your God-given destiny, to walk confidently, and to do all that God has called you to do, you must know your identity! You don’t have to search far for biblical truths about who you are; it’s right in the good ol’ Bible! One of my favorite scriptures referring to identity is: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold, the new has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
If you don’t know who you are, people will tell you who you are. You can end up being swayed in a direction that God didn’t intend for you to go. Knowing who you are goes hand in hand with not letting everyone or everything influence you. Be the influence of your life! Knowing who you are in Christ is a priceless gift.
Confidence in God doesn’t come from doing everything right, or having it all together. Confidence comes from knowing we are loved by God. Jesus’s love, grace, faithfulness, and mercy will help us overcome our insecurities.
Know your worth, keep your standards, and keep what God says about you close to your heart.
Today’s challenge: Write down five positive affirmations about your identity.
