SAME CALLING, DIFFERENT CONFIDENCE
The reason we want to explore this topic of confidence and insecurity is because when we struggle with insecurity, it holds us back from leading the powerful life that God has for us and it keeps us from going all in. Like Moses we find ourselves telling God all the reasons we can't be 'Bout That Life, because even if He wanted to use us and even if we agreed, we wouldn't measure up.
But the truth is that we don't represent God through TALENT & PERFECTION, but through BROKENNESS, HUMILITY, & VULNERABILITY.
In fact, we see time and time again that God uses our weakness and insecurity to His advantage because in the areas we are weak, He can be strong and He will get the glory and we won't be tempted to take any credit ourselves. The passage in 1 Corinthians that we're about to read puts it best: God chooses the weak things to shame the strong.
So when you're feeling like you don't measure up, take solace in the fact that you don't! (and you're not meant to!)
God makes up where we lack, and that's not always easy to comprehend or put our finger on exactly where we leave off and where God picks up, but we do know that once we start stepping out in faith that we are able to do things we could never do before. And once you get a taste of what it's like to have confidence because you're relying on God every step of the way, it becomes addicting - because this is how we were meant to live. That is life and life abundantly. That is how you become 'Bout That Life!
Practial Steps: Ask God to give you courage to step out in faith to follow Him in boldness, despite the insecurities you may have, knowing that He'll make up where you lack.
About this Plan
A famous mixed martial arts fighter, Ronda Rousey, popularized this phrase, 'Bout That Life, in 2015 at the height of her career. She explained that many people want the glory of success, but are unwilling to do what it takes to get there. This Bible Plan looks at the lives of a few Biblical characters who were definitely 'Bout That Life: willing to do whatever it took to follow God. God's calling has remained the same through centuries: the question is, what will our response be?
