The Love Of Money

Some say money is the root of all evil. But hang on… is that really true? Don’t we need it to survive? So how can money possibly be the root of all evil? The fact is, it’s not. It’s the love of money that’s the real trap. So how can we avoid it – and make sure that money is our servant, not our master?

LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS 

• It’s a simple question with a potentially difficult answer: How much do you love money? Don’t brush this one off. Take some time to really think it through – even if the answer God shows you is an uncomfortable one.
• Do you find your security, sense of worth, or meaning in your money? All of these may be signs that you’re placing a love of money above your love of God – the only true source of security, worth and meaning.
• Is the love of money causing you pain? 
• How much of your money are you giving away? Set a goal to give a little more away this week than you did last week – and see what God does with it. Ask Him to begin the work of turning your heart away from worldly wealth… and towards Him.
