Seeking His Presence

DAY 4 OF 7

Today's Scripture reading in Jeremiah 29:12-14 is a profound promise from God towards His people. Today we will focus on one key part. God promises that when we call upon Him and come and pray to Him, He will hear us.

Have you ever been in a conversation and the topic drifts towards something that you are uninterested in, so you start to zone out and your mind drifts elsewhere, only to snap back and engage as soon as the topic comes back to something that interests you? Be honest; we have all done this at one point or another. It's called selective hearing.

While we may have a tendency to have selective hearing, God does not. God is always listening for those who will call upon Him. Sometimes we believe that God isn't listening and so we stop speaking, but that couldn't be further from the truth. It doesn't matter who you are, where you have been, or what you have done, God listens for those who will call upon Him in prayer.

This is incredibly important to understand as we seek His presence, as we call upon Him, and as we come and pray so that we may encounter His presence. He listens, and He hears us.

Believing that He is listening and that He hears us gives us confidence to boldly pray, knowing our prayers are heard by the one who matters most.

TODAY'S REFLECTION

How would your prayer life change if you believed God didn't have selective hearing? If you believed that He was listening and that He hears you? Well, the truth is that He doesn't have selective hearing, He does listen, and He does hear you.

Why don't you take some time today to seek His presence through prayer, knowing that your Heavenly Father is listening.
