Walking With Jesus - HopeSýnishorn
HOPE
"To hope" for something that we have not yet received is a difficult thing to do in the life journey of believers. However, the Bible clearly demands that we hope in the Lord. The biblical nature of our hope is always about the future. Hope cannot be separated from a firm and solid faith. In other words, strong believers will continue to hope in Him regardless of the situation. With full confidence, we can continue to believe in God in whatever our condition.
Do not trust nobleman, for none can give salvation. As believers, we have expectations that will never disappoint us. Our hope is a strong anchor in the middle of a rough sea of life.
The basis of true hope is:
- First, it comes from God’s nature. God has proved Himself faithful in the past. For example, God led the people of Israel out of Egypt and occupied the land of Canaan. People who live without God have no hope at all.
- Second, it comes from Lord Jesus Christ. For us as believers, Jesus Christ came as the Son of God to destroy the work of Satan and the gods of this age. By His death and resurrection He destroyed the kingdom of Satan. Lord Jesus Christ is our hope. We can put our hope in Him through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- Third, it comes from the Word of God. In the past, God revealed His Word through the prophets and the apostles who were inspired to write them by the Holy Spirit. His word endures and remains firm in heaven. We can put His hope in His word that will never fail.
With the right hope, we can remain in God’s molding process in complete submission to God. We will be able to fully serve Him as the Person we would like to please.
Reflection:
- All of us hope for something. What is your hope? Is there any wrong hope you have ever had?
- How can you keep putting your hope in the Right One in unfavorable situations?
Application: Build your hope on the right, true truth!
