Walking With Jesus - HopeSýnishorn
DIRECTION
Usually, we can find instructions on how to play a certain ride in a children’s playground. Children need to read and pay attention before playing with it. They might not be able to immediately get a high score in one play. In order to do so, they must understand the instructions, practice repeatedly, and continue to do so.
As believers, we also have instructions for our lives. These instructions of life are discussed thoroughly in the Scriptures. There is nothing necessary for life that is not revealed in it. This provision is enough until the end of our life journey. We can not just be quiet in order to utilize it. We must actively read, listen, learn and do it.
Without guidance from the Lord, our lives will be led to destruction. Without the right instructions, we will get lost and waste lots of valuable time and opportunities in our lives. God knows that living in this foreign world is very difficult for us. For this reason, He provides a bright light for us so that we would not be led astray.
Unfortunately, we often neglect this matter. We do not want to use God's way to deal with the world. We think that we can face the world with our perspective, intelligence, and wisdom. Instead of knowing the true truth, we would rather seek human truth. Instead of hearing the truth that rebukes and changes us, we would rather hear tales that entertain our ears. Instead of doing Biblical truth, we prefer truth in our minds. How foolish we are!
Reflection:
1. Do you care and use instructions from God? Why or why not?
2. Do you believe the truth of God's guidance for your life? How convinced are you? What is the proof?
Application: Follow the right instructions and you will live!
