The Domino EffectSýnishorn
God’s will. Are you living in God’s will? Knowing, understanding and living in God’s will is a daunting task. As followers of Jesus, we probably all want to be who Jesus wants us to be, do what he wants us to do, marry who he wants us to marry, work where he wants us to work, go to college where he wants us to go to college… the list can go on and on. Paul somehow figured this concept out. As we look back, we find it quite obvious that he was living in God’s will. He had such an impact wherever he went, and God seemed to be right beside him every step of the way! Every action, every trip and every mission were filtered through if it was the will of God or not. In Acts 18, Paul is leaving Corinth and he says this to the people, “I will come back if it is God’s will.”
Does God speak to you directly and light your path so bright that you feel confident that you are living in His will? I know there have been some specific times in my life that God showed up in a big way, (a dream, a person, a whisper), but most times I feel like I have been left on an island to fend for myself in the decisions that I make. What if God’s will was more simple than we thought? What if God’s will for your life and mine was to simply pursue Jesus in everything we do. If we are pursuing Jesus at our work, it is God’s will. If we are pursuing Jesus at the college we chose, His will. If we are pursuing Jesus with the girl we date, His will. And as soon as you stop pursuing Jesus in whatever decision you make, you might be stepping out of His will. Are you willing to pursue Jesus in everything you do?
