Women of Age

DAY 1 OF 5

Qualified

In the passage of The Wife of Noble Character in Proverbs 31:10-31 King Lemuel is portraying a woman with outstanding qualifications. Try and read the whole passage without feeling defeated! The common thread that is woven in and out of this scripture is the wife is always busy with her hands. She’s either in the field, making something, or tending to the needs of others. She is not focused on her age, her looks, or what she can’t do (but, as it’s written, she can do everything!), but what she is focused on is the needs of others.

We can feel as though we are underqualified when reading this passage. The enemy doesn’t stop trying to attack us with his words of discouragement even when we get to a certain age. With our minds and bodies changing, his attacks can feel even stronger, especially for those who have physical limitations. By striving to listen to Christ’s voice it will help us replace our thinking from underqualified to qualified in Christ.  Therefore, we can look for ways to serve others in the way that only we can serve. By changing our perspective from the negatives to the positives we can become the Woman of Noble Character.

“Father show us how to see ourselves as qualified instead of underqualified even with age. May we attune our ears to hear Your voice during the times that the enemy tries to divert us with his lies. Help us to be Your hands to serve others in their time of need. Amen”
