Life SeasonsSýnishorn
Everything in life is ultimately temporary, except for two things. One is the souls of people and the other is the Word of God. In fact, besides God Himself those two things are the only ones that will outlast the planet we live on. So, everything else is ultimately temporary. Take the seasons of the year for instance. Seasons teach us that the one constant in life is change.
It seems that when life reveals the need for physical change and hopefully growth, the spiritual side of us also has opportunity to grow. You see, while our soul lasts forever, we still have opportunity to grow and hopefully become more like the one who made us.
In Philippians 3:13, Paul encourages the reader to forget "what lies behind" and strain "forward to what lies ahead." He goes on to encourage the reader with his own story. He writes, "I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
So, no matter your past, or even your current situation, realize that seasons come and go, and you too can "press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
