All Shall Be Well: Awakening To God's PresenceSýnishorn
Seeing God
What an incredible statement! Since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities are clearly seen and understood from what God made. Though, I might argue against the word “clearly.” I do believe I catch glimpses of the Creator in the world He made, but we humans have no end of conflict over who God is and what He is like. As the passage goes on to say, our vision has become darkened and obscured. We have forgotten how to see what He has made clear.
But this doesn’t stop me from peeking, peering, looking for God’s invisible qualities in the world He created. God lovingly formed this earth full of ever-repeating cycles—and humans have always learned best through repetition. I wonder: what is He trying to teach us in the ebbs and flows of day and night, light and dark, summer and winter, life and death?
As we go around and around each cycle, we learn of His faithfulness from beginning to end. Each spring we see how He brings new life out of death. Each autumn we learn to trust Him to see us through the wilderness and into the next beginning.
As the apostle Paul says, we see through a dark glass…for now. Soon, we shall see face to face.
What are you learning in the cycles and repetitions of Creation?
