FIVE WAYS TO PRAY

DAY 3 OF 5

PRAY WITH PEOPLE

One of the most powerful ways we can pray is with others. In the very beginning, when it was just Adam walking with God in the cool of the day, even then, God recognised that it was not good for man to be alone, that we were created for community and relationship.

So often in our world today which can be very individualistic, we can approach our relationship with God in the same manner. Though it is important to have a personal one on one connection with God, we should never let it compromise our collective connection to Him.

When Jesus taught us how to pray in Matthew 6, He didn’t teach us to say “My Father”, but rather “Our Father”. He wants us to recognise the power of togetherness and agreement, which can unlock the miraculous in our lives.

All through the bible we see the power of unity at work. It is often one of the most underrated commodities in the world today, and sadly one that Satan all too often targets to great effect. In John 17, we see a detailed glimpse into one of Jesus’ final prayers to the Father, and the strongest and clearest thread is a cry for unity amongst believers.

Today, let’s pray with someone in our world. You’ll be amazed at what can take place!
