Killing It: A Study Of 1 CorinthiansSýnishorn
We are made to be inspired.
All of us love an inspirational moment, or sight, or music, or movie, or sermon. But inspiration is more than an emotive moment. We are not meant to run on our own spirit—and if we try we will inevitably lead worn-out lives.
God gives us His spirit to befriend us, guide us, convict us, protect us, strengthen us.
The Spirit will reveal to us our potential—‘what God has prepared for those who love him.’
We all have a deep inner life—where our thoughts and desires and memories and intentions dwell. It is in the renovation of the spirit that human life flourishes.
That is God’s intent. (the ‘rulers of this age’ cannot do that.)
Mostly we live inspired lives in our ‘minds.’ (vv. 9, 11, 15)
And it has begun in Jesus. We ‘have the mind of Christ’ vs. 16.
How can you partner with the Holy Spirit to transform your mind and your thoughts? Are there opportunities during your days to be still and meditate on scripture? Can you take a moment at the beginning and end of every day and center yourself on God? Every moment is an opportunity to train our inner life to be more aligned with the mind of Christ.
About this Plan
Follow along as we reflect on the idea that #KillingIt is "killing us." This series will be inspired by the first 2 chapters of the book of 1 Corinthians, looking at Paul's intro into how to live a life in the way of the cross. "For the message of the cross if foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18
