Jesus Exposes The Heart - Disciple Makers Series #13Sýnishorn
When it is hard to walk in obedience
Thoughts on the message
Do you have to “see” before you believe? Does God have to do something for us before you and I walk in obedience? The problem with this mentality is two-fold. First, how big a miracle does God have to do? There is always a problem bigger that will need a bigger miracle. If you get one, we will always demand a bigger one. Second, God calls us to walk by faith in His goodness. Action before seeing the miracle. It is not that God is not interested in doing great miracles for us. He wants us to walk in our understanding of God. Walk in our trust in Him.
Also, God has put many examples around us to look at—Jonah, Queen of Sheba. If we believe that He is the same God as He was back then for those people—and He will be the same God to us today—then we will have no problem believing in His goodness.
Time to Pray
Father, we see just a glimpse of Your goodness. Today, I want to walk by faith in Your goodness—the goodness I see in Your actions to me in my past and the examples in Your Word. There is more than enough there for me to be confident in You that You will keep every promise You have given to me. It is all about You and not me. It is all about You and Your faithfulness to everything You have said. It is all about You…. Today help me remember that. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
