Dare To Ask

DAY 1 OF 10

Dreaming with God

Have you ever dreamed of something, worked towards it tirelessly, imagined life as if the dream were the reality, but then eventually given up on it?

I think most of us have.

We all have a deep place in our souls where we dream of what we could be or what could have been.

In Isaiah 43:18 it says that “He will make all things New”. The word “all” includes all the ‘old’ things that we have stored away hidden in a box somewhere, collecting dust. Our dreams, maybe even a calling, and certainly some of our gifts. God wants to make them new.

I believe the dreams that we hide in our hearts, maybe afraid to share them or hope for them, reveal God’s dreams for us, before he gave them to us.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

Not only does God restore the dreams that He has given, but He suddenly opens our eyes to see how all the things we’ve walked through weave together to make us more able to fulfill these dreams.

Again, this word “all” includes those things that seemed painful or pointless. It also includes the time ‘wasted’ in the waiting. It includes all things.

When our dreams are realized God’s way, they point to Him. When our dreams are realized our way, the glory goes to us. Sometimes God has to lead us down a path that allows us to think that there is no way that our hopes and dreams will ever come to pass, so that when they do, we have no doubt in our mind who orchestrated them.

The challenge for us in this journey is to learn to rest.

There is a constant balance we must learn, of resting in the knowledge that He will bring about all things to happen in His perfect time, but also wrestling with God for what He has said and promised.

We should be in a constant state of healthy dissatisfaction, resting in all He’s given, but wrestling for more.

“Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Ps 37:4)

Do you dare to ask for His rest?

About this Plan

Dare To Ask

This plan encourages readers to grapple with the dreams and gifts that God has intrinsically put within us, and to Dare to Ask for more of God, while remaining at a place of rest. It challenges our perceptions and leads us to trust God’s sovereignty.
