Peace Is an Entry

Close your eyes and imagine - PEACE.

What picture comes to mind?

Most people picture themselves sitting alone on the mountain top or alone by the beach. Why is that? That's because for most people peace looks like an escape from reality. Peace looks like an escape from the busyness of this world, from all the irritating people in life, from the reality of your daily life.

But there's a problem. You can never really escape reality. And if you think peace is escaping reality then you might never really find peace.

Peace is not an escape; peace is an entry!

Jesus says this:

John 16:33 NLT

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Peace is not found by escaping reality; peace is found by entering the presence of Jesus.

Practice:

Enter the presence of Jesus every day. And the way to enter his presence is simple - EXIT whatever you're doing and ENTER into a time of worship. Do this every day!

Prayer:

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your presence, which is always with me whenever I turn my attention to you. As I enter into your presence I enter into perfect peace. May your peace overcome all my worries and all the stress of this day just as you have overcome the world. I pray this in your name, Jesus. Amen.
