7 Days to a Sweeter YearSampel

2. Look for the Good, Bright and Positive in People
Looking for the good and positive traits in people lifts us up. It lightens the burden of negative feelings and increases our appreciation of them when we appreciate something â whether itâs a sunset, piece of art, or a trait in a person â we experience pleasure. Life is sweeter when we dwell on the good. God even tells us to do so. Whether youâre looking for bad or good in someone, youâre likely to find it. Follow Godâs advice and look for the good in people, and youâll discover that some sweet things will happen in your spirit.
While youâre at it, go ahead and speak affirmation to the people about the good you see in them. Feelings of insecurity and inadequacy are more common than you might think. Itâs always good to hear encouraging words from others. You never know the depth of a personâs fight to believe theyâre OK, valuable, and âenough.â Whether to a non-Believer or a Believer, a sincere expression of affirmation can make someoneâs day. Itâs very likely to make yours, as the giver, too.
