Kemudian Yesus pergi ke Nazaret, kota tempat Ia dibesarkan. Pada hari Sabat, Ia pergi ke rumah ibadah sebagaimana Ia selalu lakukan. Ia berdiri untuk membaca. Kitab Nabi Yesaya diberikan kepada-Nya. Ia membuka buku itu dan menemukan bagian di mana tertulis: “Roh Tuhan ada pada-Ku. Ia telah memilih Aku untuk memberitakan kabar baik kepada orang miskin. Ia mengutus Aku untuk memberitakan kebebasan kepada orang tahanan, dan memberitahukan orang buta bahwa mereka bisa melihat lagi. Ia mengutus Aku untuk membebaskan mereka yang tertindas dan, untuk mengumumkan bahwa waktu Tuhan sudah tiba untuk menunjukkan kemurahan-Nya.”
