Preparing For Marketplace Revival: Part I
Billy Graham once said that he believed the next revival would come through the marketplace. My personal hopes and prayers are that Billy Graham’s prediction will come true.
But what scripture consistently reveals is that repentance precedes revival. Unfortunately, when I examine what repentance looks like in the Bible and contrast it to our current culture’s approach to sin, I see a huge gap.
Repentance has many more steps and complexity than just saying you are sorry, but the fruit of repentance is eternal in nature.
In Luke 15:10, Jesus said, “I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
In this series, we will discuss the stages of repentance and how it can impact your workplace.
Questions for Reflection
- What do you think of when you hear the word “repentance”? Would you consider it to be a stronger word than “apologizing”? What sort of behavior would you expect to see if someone was determined to truly repent of something?
- Think of a time in your life when repentance was needed. How did the offender try to resolve the situation or did they? Imagine the very best outcome that could have happened. What Christ-like actions would have to have been taken to bring that outcome about? How much of it would have been repentance?
