Christians have confidence that through the trials and sufferings we face, God will not abandon us. But it doesn’t always feel true. Sometimes we feel like God is far away from us. Sometimes we wonder if he cares. Sometimes we wonder if we have been too faithless for him to continue being faithful. Our feelings matter, but they are not the ultimate dictator of truth. The fact remains that God will not abandon you, no matter how overcome by the world you may feel. He will finish the work he began in you and bring you to new life in the resurrection.  

Have you ever felt like God doesn’t care about you? How does today’s passage help? 

Prayer: God, thank you that even when I feel far away from you, you remain close. Please help me seek you even in those times when I don’t feel like it. Amen.
