Living for God: Devotions From Time of GraceՕրինակ
What are you morphing into?
Do your kids or grandkids like to watch Transformers cartoons or play with Transformers action toys? These mechanical marvels look like robots but can transform themselves into vehicles or aircraft. There is ceaseless war between the good Autobots and the Decepticons, led by the evil Megatron.
You and I may enjoy the fantasy that we are sovereign and independent agents in life, clearheaded and in control, but in actuality we are all changing into something or another and the only question is what we are changing into. The war between good and evil is real, and Satan, the true Megatron, is trying to morph us into copies of himself--people who throw off God’s authority and despise his Word; people who love money, worship power, and use other people as stepping-stones or props.
Heads up! “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2).
Would your family members say that the ways in which you’ve changed in the last five years are good? What are you allowing into your mind today? How might you let the Spirit of the Lord influence your thinking?
