Day 10 - Mark 6:7-12

In His Name

The disciples had been with Jesus observing Him teach, heal, and deliver people from demons. He did not give them lessons with instructions on how to do what they saw Him doing. He simply did it and modeled for them through the power of prayer, surrender, compassion and love.

Then He sent them out into the villages to do the same. They had to trust that what they saw Him doing they could do because He gave them His authority and confidence. But they also had to overcome the fear and take action. They were “commissioned” by Jesus to do His work in His name for His glory and for the deliverance of those in need.

Am I ready and willing to do the same, without fear of people or failure? Can I offer help with the confidence and certainty that by His authority, I can teach the ways of the kingdom, heal people, and deliver from demonic obsession? When is the last time I stepped out in faith to actually do it?
