Salvation to Everyone Who Believes

Indeed the Gospel message is Good News. Literally, that is what it means. Jesus’ first activity after He was baptised was to proclaim the Good News. The root Greek word euangelion denotes good tidings – Good News. It has two basic senses – active proclamation of the message, and the content being proclaimed. The content is Good News and proclaiming it is also Good News.

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:3 that he passed on the Gospel as of first importance, that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.

The central points of the Gospel can be summed up as follows: Jesus’ status as God’s Son, His genuine humanity, His death for our sins, His burial, resurrection, subsequent appearances and future coming in judgement.

In Romans 1:16, Paul writes ‘For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile’. The power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes. The Good News is proclaimed and we need to respond.

Don’t put it off any longer. Say ‘yes’ to the good news of Jesus. The Gospel that Jesus proclaimed is the only route to salvation. Tell others about this Good News.
