Lord, Teach Me My AssignmentMinta
Lord, Thank You For My Assignment
“And they asked him, and said unto him, “Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?” (John 1:25 KJV)
Almost every company or large corporation has a statement that answers the question, “What will the world look like if we are successful?” That answer is a vision statement. You will also see that most companies have a statement that answers another question, “What must we do to bring about this vision?” That answer is a mission statement.
Tesla’s vision is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable things. Oxfam wants a world without poverty. Feeding America desires a hunger-free America, and “how” these companies will accomplish their vision gets at the heart of their mission. When you find your mission, you have found your assignment.
John’s mission was to prepare people for Jesus Christ and to present Jesus Christ to the people. Jesus’ Mission was to redeem humanity and to restore humanity to God’s original Purpose. You know what God has placed in your heart concerning how “your part of His world” – youth in your community, budgets in your company, relationships in your family - should look: that is the vision. Now, how will you partner with Him to make that vision a reality? How will you go about seeing it through? The answer to those questions is your mission, your ASSIGNMENT.
ACTIVITY: After prayer, write your vision statement and your mission statement (your assignment).
Let us pray…
LORD, I see this world better.
I see this world being better because of the work you want me to do.
I see this world looking more like Jesus.
Thank you for my assignment.
Your Kingdom come, your will be done,
Amen.
