The Adventure:

For Christmas, you are probably wanting something new. Whether it’s new toys, the newest console, or even a new puppy. Whatever it is we all want something new. I don’t know how much you would love Christmas if you got a race car with only one wheel or a t-shirt that has spaghetti stains all over it. We want new and we think new is better. Now new is great and I am asking for new stuff too but new isn’t always needed. New is not always the best thing.

I don’t know if it’s the best thing that at the start of a new year you get a new family. Or every November you start over at a new school. Sometimes you want things to stay the same. The amazing news is that Jesus stays the same. The Bible says, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Meaning that for as far back as time has existed and as far into forever Jesus will always be loving, will always be kind, and will always be patient. This is the good news of Isaiah 9:6 that Jesus is everlasting, living forever and He will be a father to us.

Now when you hear the word father or dad you may have a lot of memories. Even the greatest dads aren’t perfect, they all make mistakes. But Jesus is the greatest father we could ever have because He loves us and provides for us. Not only that Jesus isn’t going anywhere. Another name for Jesus is Immanuel, God with us. Meaning that Jesus is always here for us and will never leave us or forsake us. He is always fighting for us to walk the path of life

The Destination:

Jesus cannot change yet He changes everything. When Jesus was born He changed everything. God took on a human body and was born. 100% God and 100% man. Jesus changed everything by being God with us. Jesus can never and will never change but He wants to change your heart. Christmas is not just a celebration of new things it is a celebration that now anyone can have their life changed for the better in Jesus.
